Steffen is a Vice President and provides Pala with research insights and deep commodity market expertise. He also serves as a senior portfolio manager for a commodity hedge fund, for which Pala provides certain services. He is highly experienced in hedging and proprietary trading across energy, base and precious metal markets. Equipped with more than 18 years of experience in researching and analyzing commodity markets to make investment decisions and generate superior risk adjusted returns.

Prior to Pala, Steffen worked at the merchant trading business of VTB in Zug, where he was responsible for the hedging needs of the physical metals book and running the discretionary trading strategy. He also held previous commodity sales and trading roles at Credit Suisse, UBS and Standard Chartered across Zurich, London and Hong Kong.

Steffen holds a MSc in Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA in Economics from the University of Amsterdam.
